Meet the Distribution Partner: Steve Ratcliffe, Delta Telecom

We caught up with Steve Ratcliffe, Managing Director at Delta Telecom at London’s IFESC event in May. Established in 1972, Delta is a Manchester-based business that has worked with Intercall and the Guardian System for over 20 years. During this time the businesses have worked in close collaboration and grown from strength to strength.

Steve told us, “The first Guardian system we installed was in Manchester, it was a little Medical Centre just down the road from us. It was an easy, quick solution and it just grew and grew from there. We work closely with the Intercall team, particularly Graham, Simon and Duncan – they manufacture, and we install, between us we were able to overcome any issues together. It’s a very transparent and strong relationship. I actually did my initial Guardian training 20 years ago at Intercall, they’ve always offered us great support and ongoing training.

A lot of what we do is working with the mental health industry. Guardian is definitely an industry leader; it’s got a very good reputation. There are other systems in the field that are cheaper, but not as robust. It’s often installed in challenging situations, and we see it vandalised quite a lot. Guardian stands out because we can always find a solution to our clients queries and it’s reliable.

We do a lot of CCTV work, access control, door entry and sound systems. We’ve also recently worked with football grounds, but a lot of our work is with the NHS, for whom we also install Intercall nurse call systems, including the new One. I’m really impressed with Intercall One, it’s good that you can just replace the existing nurse call system with the same cables. We’ve also recently installed the Touch Series in the Sue Ryder Neurological Care Centre in Preston, Lancashire.”
