Intercall Launches the Touch Series

Intercall successfully previewed the new Touch Series at Ifsec, London in June 2014. As market leaders in the design and development of nurse call systems, Intercall is committed to learning, adapting and improving the level of care and security within the care sector. The Touch series has been developed in consultation with the sector, using experience and learning from previous systems.

Building on the technology of Series 600 & 700, one of the Touch Series key features includes the use of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). Intercall is leading the industry with the use of RFID to identify staff and their actions. This data can be logged and accessed by managers, giving them an insight into staffing levels and average call response times. Using this intelligence, managers are able to set staff performance indicators and ensure that staff receive the support they need at all times.

The launch of the Touch Series follows a period of extensive research and design development. Intercall commissioned product design specialists, Sanders Design, to work with them on the redesign of the product range. The result is a family of products that look as good as they work.

“Our challenge was for the product design to reflect the market-leading technology inside and to balance this sophisticated technology with the optimum, straightforward user experience,” said Matt Blofeld, Product Designer at Sanders Design. “Through the use of clean lines, a sleek colour palette and rounded forms, the Touch Series is a family of products that define themselves within their environment by adopting familiar and ever present silhouettes.”

Simon Hardy, Managing Director of Intercall, said, “We’ve listened to customer feedback and developed a range of products that can be both hard-wired or use web-based technologies. We believe the Touch Series reflects the needs of modern health care providers and it’s future-proofed for the 21st Century. We’re excited about the new Touch series and can’t wait to hear what our customers think of the new range.”

The Touch Series will be launched at the Care Show at NEC Birmingham on 4th to 5th November for projects due to begin installation early 2015.
